Join Ten Pieces in celebrating a fantastic year of music-making and creativity by holding your own Ten Pieces assembly.

How to take part:

  1. Sign up with BBC Ten Pieces
  2. Hold your assembly any time between Monday 3 and Friday 7 June, on a day that works for your school.
  3. Share any photographs and videos from your assembly with us on Friday 7 June (our new uploader is coming soon!).

What can you do:

Showcase your Creative Responses - original compositions, dance, poetry, animation and anything else that may inspire children! Creative responses are a great way to encourage cross-curricular activity. Perform one of the pieces - There are downloadable instrumental arrangements for each piece available on our website. Watch the Ten Pieces Films - use your Ten Pieces assembly to show the Ten Pieces films from the website to get your students inspired. The films feature celebrity talent introducing engaging orchestral performances of each piece. They’re a great way for your students to be introduced to a range of classical music. Take on our Earth Mission - Holst didn’t write a movement for Earth and so the Earth Mission asks all budding Ten Pieces astronauts (your class) to create their own piece of music about Earth as though they are looking down on it from space! Why not perform your finished composition in your Ten Pieces assembly.
