Get more out of music...
Inspiring children and young people to develop a love of music through participation in musical experiences within and outside school.
Cumbria Music Education Hub is collaborative partnership led by Westmorland & Furness Council Music Service (Children’s Services). Working together with Cumberland Council Music Service, schools and educational settings across Cumbria, and local, regional and national partners, we use the ACE Music Hub Grant to deliver the vision and three goals of the National Plan for Music Education and enable all children and young people to learn to sing, play an instrument and create music together, and have the opportunity to progress their musical interests and talents.

A percussionist studying music explained how having to play three percussion instruments at a time didn’t allow her brain to tick…well we should not be surprised - a percussionist is often doing a million things at once (perhaps a slight exaggeration).
A third article could have been played - one to celebrate the ‘hidden champions’ of music for children. Read on…

Members who have contributed their time for several years and more, and new members were joined by Lead School representatives. The time, dedication, and support provided by these amazing people - giving their time for free because they care so much about children’s rights to access and engage in music was humbling to say the least. ![]()
We are so lucky to be supported by these amazing, caring people.
