large scale singing and performance events for 2024

Events run 1-5 July 2024

Cumbria Music Hub is excited to be partnering with AmaSing an award-winning charity and arts organisation who specialise in developing exciting and inclusive arts for wellbeing projects and huge celebratory school community shows.

We invite Key Stage 2 pupils and staff from Cumbria Schools to join in with our Music Hub in-county large scale singing and performance events. Events will support  pupil's positive mental health through music and singing, building on their confidence, self-esteem, creativity and community cohesion.

KS1 children can also participate via our Live Streamed Performance event.

Join a Live Venue Event
 

SIGN UP BY 26 APRIL to join a Live Venue Event: Join one of our four live venue events. Celebratory performances for KS2 where schools will come together in a professional venue with a professional band. 

Monday 1st July  at The Forum, Barrow-in-Furness, LA14 1HH 

Tuesday 2nd July  at St Bees School, St Bees,  CA27 0DS 

Wednesday 3rd July  at Kendal parish Church, LA9 5AF 

Thursday 4th July  at  The Garden at Eden, Crosby on Eden, CA6 4RA

What do we do next?

Complete the sign-up form by clicking on blue sign-up bar at top of page. If your school has already completed the expression of interest form there is no need to re submit your entry. We will confirm your school's place upon receipt of form. This will be on a first-come-first-served basis. There is limited availability remaining  at the Barrow and Kendal venues.

  • On-line composing Workshop for participating schools – Selected Children from each school will have the opportunity to work with a professional composer to create a brand new unique “Song for Cumbria” and this will be one of the songs all the schools learn to be performed at each event

  • 1 x on-line singing sessions open to all children in every school to help support children to learn the new composed song

  • 6 x Show online rehearsal sessions to support schools to teach songs to children

  • Compere, 5 Piece Live Band, and 2* Dance Leads at each live show. *1 Dance Lead at Live streamed show 

  • All resources provided to schools via a digital platform - Free access to all music and resources and our own Cumbria page on the Amasing website www.amasing.org.uk

  • Possible Live Streaming of the live events for parents, grandparents, families, and your colleagues and Governors to see the AmaSing performances that your children make.

Further Information

We will provide children and schools with:

  • a safe environment for students to sing together 
  • an opportunity to perform to a wider audience 
  •  the experience of singing in ensembles with other young singers around the county 
  •  an opportunity to work with professional singers and composers 

How will it work on the day?

  • A half day workshop  with opportunities to sing as a school and with other schools
  • Professional musicians and an experienced singing leader to enthuse children and teachers alike.
  • Amalgamation of rehearsed aspects that make a complete and beautiful harmonic experience
  •  A Cumbria Composition based on the theme, will also be performed on the day
