The Lab: 2-day Music Production, Rap & Lyric Writing sessions with Horizon Studios @ Penrith Town Hall, 27 & 28 April 2024 from 10:00am – 4:00pm
Want to write and produce your own music? Aged 11 - 18? Don't miss this chance to learn with local music professionals from Horizon Studios.
Develop your skills in lyric writing, rap and music production under the expert guidance of Swerve, Lanerz & No-El from Horizon Studios.
- Work with industry professionals from Horizon Studios, supported by experienced leaders from Cumbria Music Hub.
- No experience necessary, just come and have a go.
- Resources provided but please but bring your own laptop/Tablet and headphones if you have these. We can provide up to 6 laptops for the sessions.
Session Details The Lab runs for two days and participants will usually attend on both days. If this will cause you a problem email us at:
Sessions run from 10:00am - 4:00pm each day with groups for 11 - 14 yr olds and 15 - 18 yr olds. Arrive at 9:30am to register and get set-up on both days. Each day finishes at 4:00pm. There will be refreshment breaks and a supervised lunch break each day. On the second day we invite family members to a sharing at 3:00pm where we will showcase our work in action. Do I need to bring anything with me? A packed lunch and a water bottle that you can fill up through the day (please avoid bringing glass bottles etc). If you have access to a laptop please bring it and also if you have headphones please bring these. You do not need an amazing spec, we will be using an educational resource called EduBandLab that is cloud based. We have some laptops to share with anyone that needs one. You will need to have your own email address. We will send an invitation to this address to our Classroom area on EduBandLab. If you don't have an email please contact us and we can help with alternative arrangements. Your energy, enthusiasm, and willingness to have a go and make music with others!
