Where: Castle Street Centre (detached room), Kendal LA9 7AD When: twice a month on a Sunday eve 6-8pm (set up and tune up from 5.45pm) Flutes & Co flute orchestra welcomes flute players of all ages (Grade 4+). We are a friendly group of 30 flute players (aged 13-75) from across South Lakes and North Lancashire. Members will have a chance to play piccolos, alto, bass and contra bass flutes. The Westmorland Youth Orchestra is an orchestra of about 50 young people from the South Lakeland area, aged between 12-18. We play new pieces that have been especially composed for the orchestra, music from classical composers, and also older music going back a few hundred years. We usually present 3 concerts each year.

More affectionately known as “The Milli”, we are a mixed choir for young people from 8-18 years of age. We offer an opportunity to sing and produce music both formally and informally through regular rehearsals and concerts, as well as local workshops and residential weekends.

Welcoming any budding brass player – whatever your ability. The band plays full pieces of ensemble music, can have instrument sectional rehearsals, and one-on-one tuition allowing every enthusiastic youth player to progress.
