Westmorland Youth Orchestra
Where: Castle Street Youth Centre, Kendal
When: Friday 7-9.30pm in term time
The Westmorland Youth Orchestra is an orchestra of about 50 young people from the South Lakeland area, aged between 12-18. We play new pieces that have been especially composed for the orchestra, music from classical composers, and also older music going back a few hundred years. We usually present 3 concerts each year.Find out more

Amabile is a family of three choirs for girls offering excellent tuition and performance experience, concerts, competitions, festivals, workshops and masterclasses. Amabile has toured abroad to Germany, Belgium, Washington DC, Provence, Thessaloniki, Ontario Canada and New York State and appeared on the BBC in Sainsbury’s Choir of the Year and Songs of Praise!

Burneside Brass is a brass ‘contesting’ band based near Kendal. We have a junior Academy Band which meets weekly.
The band works with young musicians who have already had some experience of playing a brass instrument at school through the First Access programme, and wish to progress to the next stage of learning and playing. Complete beginners are also welcome and instruments can be made available.

BYM BAM with Amy Boud
Music Making for toddlers, every Thursday in term time
£3.50 per session
Come and sing fun songs brought to life with puppets, props and movement. Get creative exploring sounds and playing instruments, and experience a new ‘mystery instrument’ each week!

Flutes & Co Orchestra
Where: Castle Street Centre, Kendal
When: 6-8 every 2nd Sunday of the month throughout the year
We’re an active & friendly bunch of flute players, always looking for new members – age is not important! Flutes & Co Orchestra welcomes players from Grade 3/4, with the opportunity to progress to the ensemble
Players get the chance to play alto, bass and contra bass flutes and perform in at least 2 concerts a year. We currently have about 30 members from all over Cumbria and North Lancs.Find out more

We are an amateur music-making group with wind players of all ages (currently 9-55+yrs) and all abilities meeting regularly to rehearse and perform.
