Cumbria Youth Orchestra is back! Join us now to rediscover the excitement of creating live music with other young musicians.
Now that students have returned to schools, and in line with the government’s road map for gradually lifting restrictions, we are now able to offer young musicians the opportunity to play in ensembles formed from the Cumbria Youth Orchestra or sing with the Cumbria Youth Choir.
All rehearsals will follow the latest strict health and safety government guidelines, in bubbles of no more than 15 socially distanced musicians.
We are following the latest advice carefully, and are planning our return to a full orchestra as restrictions are eased.

Playing Standard: approximately grade 4 or above
Cumbria Youth Orchestra is a group of young musicians of around grade 5-8 standard. We play a huge variety of orchestral music with a young professional conductor, Leon Reimer. Rehearsals are supported by our team of specialist professional tutors. So if you want to perform in a variety of musical settings, improve your ensemble skills and raise the level of your playing we’d love to hear from you.
A really valuable and inspiring experience for all the kids and we thoroughly enjoyed the concert … fabulous to give them the opportunity again to work with a world-class conductor.
For me CYO was a great chance to meet young people interested in music and it gave me the opportunity to not only play great music but also to learn from other really experienced and fantastic musicians
