Cumbria Youth Orchestra is a group of experienced young musicians (around grade 4-8 standard with opportunities for grade 3) who want to be part of something bigger and get more out of music.

Cumbria Youth Orchestra are back! Join the county's flagship youth ensemble as we celebrate music from Video Games far and wide. Adventures in space, journeys across time, and stories from other worlds: Carlisle Cathedral's starlit ceiling plays host to the kaleidoscopic world of Video Game anthems. CYO gives experienced young musicians a unique opportunity to come together, with a great professional conductor, to create something memorable. Whatever your standard of playing, this will develop your technique and ensemble skills in a supportive environment.
Remissions
Care experience children and young people – 100% remission.
Low income families - fee remission of 50% is available for young people in receipt of: Pupil Premium, Free School Meals, Income Support, Other Benefits & Discretionary Concessions.
The discount is available for others who feel they need additional support. For example, if you are in receipt of benefits such as Income Support, Universal Credit or Jobseeker’s Allowance or you are experiencing financial hardship due to redundancy or temporary unemployment, illness or a low income, please get in touch as we do not want finance to present a barrier to taking part.

Am I eligible to join?
- Instrumental player of around Grade 4-8 standard (minimum Grade 3)
- Age 11-19
- Living or attending school in Cumbria
