We welcome players of all ages from seven years up, whatever your musical ability. Everything is provided free of charge, from an instrument to uniform, music and tuition.
Training Band
For beginners of all ages from seven upwards – children and adults – who are keen to learn a brass instrument from scratch. Parents are encouraged to learn alongside their children, rather than sitting in the car! Members of the Main Band offer free tuition to new players. On Training Band evenings, they sit alongside and help the new players to develop musical and band skills. The Training Band has its own programme of events. In 2015 we realised we had a new and talented group of players emerging who had mastered the basics but weren’t quite ready for the intricacies of the Main Band pieces. So we launched the Intermediate Band for people who:- have graduated from Training Band
- haven’t played for a while and want to brush off the cobwebs
- have experience playing in an orchestra or band on a non-brass instrument
