Cumbria is lucky to host one of only 4 National Youth Jazz Orchestra Regional Academies in the country. Supported by experienced NYJO tutors, the Academy teaches young people the balance of skills that every jazz musicians needs – reading, improvisation, aural & ensemble skills, and provides opportunities to collaborate with young jazz musicians from across the country. We have a Saturday session each half term at North Lakes School Our first sessions have been a great success, and we'd love to see more young musicians of all instruments - whatever your jazz experience.
