Join us to celebrate some of the highlights of Cumbria Music Hub's year at a collaborative concert at The Sands Centre Carlisle, 7pm 9 July. Cumbria Youth Orchestra will be joined by members of Manchester Camerata to premiere Cumbria Calling II: The Traveller, a song cycle written by young Cumbrian composers from Appleby Grammar, Keswick School, QEGS, Ullswater Community College, Trinity & Caldew who have been working with composer Andy Smith and musicians from Manchester Camerata through Orchestras Live. Singers from Asby, Kirkby Thore, Lowther, Milburn, Beaconside, UCC & Trinity will also be performing. This is the Orchestras first performance with inspiring young conductor Leon Reimer who will also present music from the BBC Ten Pieces III including Sibelius Finlandia, Elgar Enigma Variations, Dvorak and Copeland, plus a new work composed by ex-CYO member Julian Winn, conducted by another former CYO player Joe Davies who is now making a successful career in music. CYO will be joined by our new Cumbria Youth Choir, directed by Charlotte Jackson, plus the Cumbria Youth Windband and String Ensemble.
