The Keldwyth Award is a musical scholarship awarded annually to an outstanding young musician aged 16-22, either born or educated in Cumbria. The winner receives a cheque for £1000 and the Reg Griffiths Trophy. The runner-up receives a cheque for £500 and the Geoffrey Blake Trophy. The other two finalists each receive £250. 2018 saw the introduction of a Best Newcomer’s prize of £100 to the best performance by a competitor who is new to the Award and not selected for the Final. All other competitors each receive £50 toward their expenses.
