Local Jazz Musician Jess Moore will lead a fun and inclusive Jazz Jam for young people to get involved - no matter what their experience level is with playing Jazz!

Kirkgate Arts Centre, Cockermouth
The event will take place in Cockermouth at the Kirkgate Arts Centre. Young people intending to play should arrive between 1:30 and 2PM so they can be registered and talk with Jess about their experience on their instrument, as well as Jazz.
To get everyone in the mood, Jess will play a 30 minute performance with her professional rhythm section featuring a variety of standards. For the remaining 90 minutes, players will get up to play on various pieces during the Jam, with the whole band led by Jess. Each piece will see a change in young people on the stage so that everyone has a chance to join in!
The Kirkgate is providing a bar during the Jam selling soft drinks, tea and coffee, snacks & ice cream, so please bring cash or card for this.
£5 fee (remissions available)
About Jess:
Jess Moore is a Cumbrian Jazz musician, but works in almost any genre from show music to heavy rock, a versatility she developed during her degree (BA Hons Music (Jazz) at Leeds Conservatoire). While she usually performs on Saxophone with her Quartet as well as the band ‘Oppgard’, she is also an accomplished Drum kit player, with competent abilities on Guitar (including Bass) and Piano.
