Opportunity for young String Players

There are still places for young string players to join the weekly string group at the Music Centre in Carlisle.  We are a small, dedicated group enjoying playing together and developing our skills.

School-age musicians of all standards are welcome, from beginners up to grade 8.

We perform in two concerts a year, usually Christmas and Summer, and sometimes join the other Music Centre groups to form an orchestra.

We can cater for beginners who have had at least one term of lessons.  The more advanced string group players get the chance to mentor the beginners and pass on their skills  –  very useful experience for CVs and valid as part of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

Rehearsals are held at Trinity School in Carlisle, every Thursday afternoon during term time from 4:45-5:45pm, and are led by String Tutor Katharine Bowness.
