Carlisle Cathedral Senior Girls’ Choir

When: Wednesday evenings at 4.15

The Senior Girls’ Choir, formerly known as Carlisle Cathedral Youth Choir, sings evensong every Wednesday, meeting for rehearsal at 4.15pm in preparation for the service at 5.30pm. Tea follows this with a final rehearsal until 7.15pm. They also sing three Sundays a year and several other major services and concerts a year in and around Carlisle, marking the different seasons of the churches calendar. The Choir has a wide and varied repertoire of challenging music, ranging from 16th century works by Purcell and Tallis to modern day works by Howells, Mathias and Briggs.
